Tonight's show was the "Go Home" show for the newest WWE PPV, Battleground. The WWE had only two weeks to build for the show, but they used their time wisely. Since then, we've seen Ryback unite with Paul Heyman, Randy Orton become the venomous viper we remember from his rivalry with Triple H and John Cena, and a group of people fight back against the Corporation. This week, they took it even farther, and proved that they don't need a month to build for a PPV if the creative team can be smart with their booking. Here are some key parts of last night's Raw, and my opinion on them.
Opening Match: World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio vs Kofi Kingston
For an opening match, this was good. Kofi Kingston put on a show perform flips during suicide dives, and reversing moves into his own S.O.S finishers. These guys put on a match! Alberto Del Rio had the upper hand in the beginning, and it was kind of slow, but things picked up toward the middle. Major moves were made, for instance, Alberto Del Rio reversed a Trouble in Paradise into a german suplex, and a bridge for a pin. Another example, and m favorite moment of the match, was when Del Rio went for a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker, but Kingston reversed mid air for a ddt. Del Rio was able to get the win at the end with his finishing submission hold, the armbar.
I think Alberto is a great in ring performer, but he does not have the charisma and in-ring work to be a top guy like the WWE has made him seem. I want him to not be the champion more than anything, and I think that a break from him wouldn't be so bad.
Wyatt Family vs Prime Time Players
This match had a lot of miscommunication on what looked like Darren Young's part. Not too much happened in this match except for a great looking backbreaker by Erick Rowan, and a clothesline by Luke Harper that made JBL mark out. After the match Bray Wyatt ran in the ring like the mad man he is and hit a beaten Darren Young with a Sister Abigail. You gotta love this guy.
Miz TV Segment
This was the segment of the night. The Miz had The Big Show as a special guest. Miz asked the Big Show how he could hurt Dusty Rhodes. Big Show just looked like he was about to cry the whole segment. He says that he shouldn't let Stephanie McMahon push him around, and calls her a witch. Stephanie immediately came out. She would proceed to be a bitch to the Miz like no one could. Stephanie told the Miz that he is a utility player for the WWE. He is only around for interviews and appearances. She tells him even though he's been handed opportunities, he has failed every time. That sting. She would finish off by telling the Big Show to knock him out, and he does so without hesitation.
Randy Orton vs Rob Van Dam (via WWE app vote)
This match was pretty solid. There was nothing special about it, until the match was over. Randy Orton caused the match to end in a double count out as he continued to beat RVD outside of the ring without paying attention to the count. Randy ripped off the padding on the barricade and hit RVD with a backbreaker onto the barricade. Orton rolled him into the ring after a series of attacks and sat RVD on the top rope. He proceeded to hit RVD with a ddt from the top rope, having a psychotic laugh before he dropped his head. I love this Orton.
CM Punk Addresses the Second City
Tonight's show was in Chicago, Illinois, the hometown of CM Punk. Without a doubt, Punk a huge pop when his music hit. He talked about the Blackhawks, and got a lot of love from the crowd, but Paul Heyman came out to ruin. The two exchanged some words like they only can. Then, Paul got Punk to come after him, but it was a trap as Ryback and Curtis Axel attacked him.
I enjoyed the stage dive Punk hit on Ryback, and I loved Ryback putting Punk through a table even more. The best part of the was, though, Ryback saying "That's what happens to bullies."
Main Event: 11 on 3 Handicap Elimination Match
Before the match started Daniel Bryan cut a promo saying that he had nothing to do with Scott Armstrong, and that before he left Triple H gave him a large amount of money. His promo was ended by the sound of The Shield's music. The group came down to the ring, but as they came over the barricade Goldust and Cody Rhodes attacked them. That was an amazing first glance into the near future for those two.
After a commercial break, the match was ready to begin. The match was slow at first. The Shield kept their opponents in their corner in an attempt to take out all eleven of them one by one. The first to go was Rob Van Dam, who was hurt badly earlier by Randy Orton. During the match "We Want Ziggler" chants were made by the fans. Roman Reigns was hot at one point, spearing and pinning three of his opponents in a row. Daniel Bryan came in and hit multiple missile dropkicks on Roman, and tagged in one of the Usos for a superkick, and the other Uso (I don't know which one's which) for a Superfly splash. Dolph Ziggler was able to pin his rival Dean Ambrose to leave one more Shield alone. Seth Rollins held strong, getting rid of R-Truth, but he got a taste of his own medicine as the last four opponents; Daniel Bryan, Dolph Ziggler and The Usos; surrounded the ring and attacked him. The other members of The Shield tried to help, but were stopped by Dolph and the Usos. Daniel Bryan ended the match after a headbutt, and a running single leg high knee.
This match was very unique, and entertained me a lot more than I expected. It was great to see everything come back around, and The Shield to be on the losing end.
Final Thoughts
I was really surprised to see what WWE did in the short time they had until Battleground. Honestly, this was a better build up than the one to Night of Champions. This episode still had it's bad moments like that rushed Divas tag team match that had the entrances on while CM Punk was still recovering from his beating. I have to give this show a 2.5/5.

Impact Review
Last night's Impact was the first half of thee free PPV, No Surrender. I think it's going to be hard to top the first half next week.
Opening Segment
Bully ray opened the show with his squeeze Brooke, and blamed Hulk Hogan for the uneasiness in the Aces & Eights. Hulk Hogan comes out and tells Bully that he shouldn't be worrying about him, but about Mr. Anderson. Bully then repeats what he said earlier about Hogan and asks Mr. Anderson to come out. He does, and Hulk offers his hand to shake, but Mr. Anderson just stares at him and walks to the ring. Bully Ray tells Mr. Anderson to apologize to him, and he replies "You know what? I got out of line, and I can't wait to get out of line again!" then punches Bully Ray, sending the Heavyweight Champion to retreat. Hulk Hogan then announces that the title match is now a Last Man Standing match.
This was a good opener because of the hatred that Bully Ray and Hulk Hogan present on screen. It also set up for the World Heavyweight title match decently.
AJ Styles vs Austin Aries: BFG Series Semi Finals
Austin Aries started the match going for a lot of high risk moves, and continued the match the same way, a lot of the moves not favoring him in the end. During the match AJ Styles hit a remarkable variation of the neckbreaker. He also stopped Aries from going high risk, and performing a suicide dive by hitting a springboard clothesline. Austin reversed a Styles Clash with a huricanrana, which looked good. They then followed that up by trading dropkicks. AJ tried to reverse Aries' brainbuster, but Aries was able to get into the right position again and hit his deadly looking finisher. At one point AJ resisted a superplex by karate chopping Aries' neck. AJ Styles got the pin after hitting the Styles Clash off of the second rope.
Easily the match of the night. These guys continued to show why they are not only deserving of the title as the top guys of the company, but of the industry as well.
Bobby Roode vs Magnus: BFG Semi Finals
The show came back from commercial break with Bobby Roode impatiently demanding the referee to get Magnus out to the ring already. He finally comes out, and Roode begins attacking strongly and quickly in an attempt to finish Magnus off quick, and save his energy for the Finals. Unfortunately, the plan didn't work and Magnus won with a rollup.
This match wasn't anything special. I was rooting for Bobby Roode to win.
Backstage Segments
After a commercial break there were a few backstage segments. One including ODB promoting her title match against Mickie James, and another including Bobby Roode telling Bad Influence members Kazarian and Christopher Daniels that if he isn't going to Bound For Glory then nobody is. Another segment was Manik talking to Hulk Hogan, and requesting a match against Jeff Hardy.
The Bobby Roode segment was the best of these because it hinted that something interesting may happen later. I don't thing Manik should have his mask off that often. Sometimes isn't bad.
Bully Ray vs Mr. Anderson: LMS World Heavyweight Championship
Bully Ray came out and was quickly attacked by his opponent who didn't even wait for Bully to get in the ring. Mr. Anderson tossed Bully Ray into the ring, and begins strong beating Bully all over the arena. Bully Ray made some separation by using Christy Hemme as a shield. After gaining some momentum Mr. Anderson went out of the ring and sparked himself a new catchphrase yelling "Anderson, get the table!" and continued to grab a table. As the match continued Bully Ray got into an argument with the referee, Earl Hebner, and pushed him into the turnbuckle, knocking him out. Mr. Anderson was able to react and hit Bully Ray with a mic check onto a chair. The Aces 7 Eights then came out to get Anderson's attention as they decided among themselves whether or not to attack one of their own. Meanwhile Brooke hit Mr. Anderson with a low blow. Aces & Eights members Knux, Garrett Bischoff, and Wes Brisco hit Mr. Anderson with a triple powerbomb. Mr. Anderson was able to get up before the ten count, but was speared through a table by Bully Ray. This time he didn't get up, and Bully Ray retained his World Heavyweight Championship. After the match Mr. Anderson was being taken away on a stretcher. Bully wasn't finished and he knocked Mr. Anderson off of the stretcher. Bully took off Mr. Anderson's club jacket from his weakened body, and hit him with a piledriver.
This was a good title match. It was very excited and had told a story well. I like Mr. Anderson, but I didn't think he'd win. I'm happy to see that he's not in the Aces & Eights and now he can hopefully do his own thing.
AJ Styles vs Magnus: BFG Series Finals
Both fighters entered the match fatigued from their previous matches from the night. The match was slow, but it made sense and told a good story. Bad Influence and Bobby Roode interfered in the match, attacking both opponents until multiple referees had to kick them out. The match continued because the importance of the match was to big to be stopped. Magnus stopped a springboard move by uppercutting AJ on his way down. Magnus hit his finisher on AJ, but he was able to kick out of it. AJ later reversed a cloverleaf submission into a triangle hold. Magnus went to powerbomb out of the hold when AJ reversed it mid-air into a rollup. Magnus kicked out, but AJ went into a killer calf submission. Magnus reached the rope, forcing AJ to let go. Magnus went for a spinebuster, but it looked sketchy. AJ ended up getting the victory after hitting a Spiral Tap from the top rope.
This was a great match. I still think AJ Styles' match with Aries stole the show, but this match comes in at second.
Final Thoughts
The first half of this PPV was good. It wasn't as good as I'd wish it to be. I think Aries and AJ could have brought the house down as the main event. I give the show a 3/5.

BREAKING NEWS
Tuesday, September 10, 2013
Questions: Raw
Last Night's "Go Home" show was spot on! It had a lot to offer. From Bray Wyatt to Santino Marella, and from Goldust to The Rated R Superstar, Edge. We were also given a match I've been waiting for in the main event, Daniel Bryan vs Dean Ambrose. After a great show like that, it's time for some questions!
Is Christian Going Anywhere?
Just as I had hoped for, Edge's best friend Christian was able to be included in his segment, but not exactly the way I pictured it. Edge complained about the way Triple H was handling the company, and he responded by having The Shield attack Christian. We all know that Edge will never be able to wrestle again because of back problems, so this was a good move by Hunter. Christian was dragged to the stage, shirt torn apart, and beaten badly by the self proclaimed "Hounds of Justice". It's tough seeing Christian like this because as much as I would love to believe this will lead to a well deserved push, it probably won't. As I've said before, the reaction Christian got at Summer Slam was incredible, and WWE should have used that to their advantage. Unfortunately, it was wasted. We have to give WWE the benefit of the doubt, and hope for the best.
Is Booker T Secretly Part of Triple H's Corporation?
Last night Booker T confronted The Big Show in the locker room. He told Big Show that he has to continue doing what Triple H, his boss, tells him to do for the sake of his family. Booker told him that knocking out an already beaten Daniel Bryan last week was the best thing he could have done. This is totally the opposite of what the WWE fans think, which makes me believe Booker T is now on the dark side. A few weeks ago Booker T tried to persuade Daniel Bryan to just surrender to Triple H a lot like he did The Big Show this week. As of right now it seems like Booker is only hinting a heel turn, but don't be surprised if one night Booker T is walking alongside Triple H, or even making biased calls like Triple H does.
Why is Dolph Ziggler Being Buried?
It might just be me, but lately things haven't been looking good for The Show Off. Dolph Ziggler has lost to Ryback twice last week, and Bray Wyatt last night. He even lost to Antonio Cesaro on Superstars, but I don't think that matters. Two months ago Dolph Ziggler was on top of the world. He was the #1 contender for the World Heavyweight Championship, and had the fans behind him. I was prepared to see Ziggler finally make the title important again. Instead of being the current champion, he's jobbing to monsters and not even getting his entrance aired on tv. I am worried that Dolph might have angered someone important backstage, and is now getting punished for it. I hope I'm wrong, and this is just a small blockade in Dolph's path to the top.
Who is Paul Heyman's Doctor?
Last night Paul Heyman attempted to get out of his match against CM Punk at Night of Champions by faking an injury. When a backstage worker offered to get a doctor Heyman demanded he only use his personal doctor. Heyman, Curtis Axel, the WWE doctor, and Heyman's personal doctor all came out to the arena. Paul tried to explain that his doctor has said he is too hurt to perform at Night of Champions. The WWE doctor insisted that he double check, and if Heyman knows he's hurt he'll let the doctor do his job. The doctor proceeded to check him, and when he was done he stated that Paul Heyman is healthy enough to fight. Heyman became furious and started to complain. This didn't last too long as CM Punk's music hit, and the man himself came out with a kendo stick. After running into the ring he began swinging the kendo stick at Heyman and Curtis Axel, but they retreated leaving his personal doctor in the ring alone with CM Punk. Punk began beating the doctor with the stick, sending a message to Paul Heyman, and Curtis Axel.
I noticed that the doctor was pretty fit, and did some research. He is an independent wrestler that goes by the name Asylum. He is ripped, and not bad in the ring. It will be interesting if WWE did get to sign this young man, and send him to developmental.
Can We Get More Cesaro vs Santino?
With Zeb Colter by his side, Antonio Cesaro geared up in the ring for a match against an opponent that had been missing for quite a while. It was Santino Marella. This guy received a tremendous pop, and the Toronto crowd was excited to see the "Italian" wrestler back in action (he's really from Canada). I was too. These guys put on a funny and entertaining match. The best spot of the match, of course, was Antonio Cesaro grabbing his legs and spinning Santino around for a very long time. Santino played dizzy for a moment, but was still able to get the victory via a rollup. I enjoyed this match a lot more than I expected, and I hope they fight again. I know Cesaro has to be angry that he lost, so he will look for revenge.
Final Thoughts
Overall, this show was great for what it was. It has me excited for Night of Champions, and the Raw that follows. Even though this is not a review I want to grade this show anyway with a 4/5.

Raw Preview
Tonight is the "Go Home Show" for Raw as we head into Night of Champions. There are a lot of things I'm looking for tonight , so let's jump into it.
Dean Ambrose Needs an Opponent
If Curtis Axel doesn't get to have a title match at Night of Champions, then every other champion definitely should. Dean Ambrose, the United States Champion last had a singles match at Summer Slam's Kick Off with Rob Van Dam for the US title. Since then, RVD has moved on to bigger things, pairing up with Ricardo Rodriguez to rival with World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio. Dean, on the other hand, hasn't been booked as good. Recently, Dean has been stirring up trouble with Dolph Ziggler. He attacked Dolph before his match with Ryback, and distracted him during his rematch with "The Big Guy" on Smackdown. I could see them taking this rivalry to a title match at Night of Champions, but I think Dolph is above that by now. Putting Dolph in this match may take him back in importance. No matter what, I know Dean vs Dolph could possibly steal the show.
AJ Lee & Friends
On Friday Night Smackdown, AJ Lee was able to get some of the other heel divas to work with her to attack the "Total Divas", or the divas that star on the show "Total Divas". The plan was a success, and I expect them to build on that tonight, hopefully with a match that includes either AJ, Layla or Natalya. Natalya wasn't attacked on Smackdown, so probably not her.
The Real Americans are Gearing Up for The Titles
After coming off a big victory over the Usos on Smackdown, The Real Americans might have taken the #1 Contender's spot for the Tag Team Championships. I honestly don't remember, so correct me if I'm wrong. As I've said before I am a huge fan of Antonio Cesaro, and Jack Swagger is not bad either. Cesaro works great in a tag team. I think giving them the titles would be great! Personally, I want to see a triple threat tag team match between The Shield, Usos, and Real Americans. I think that will happen later down the line.
Randy Orton vs Goldust
Goldust will return tonight fight for his brother's career. After a great match with Orton, Cody Rhodes was fired for not winning. Goldust didn't take too kindly to this and began attacking Orton on twitter. This led to the scheduling of Goldust's in-ring return to face the WWE Champion. This is going to be fun. I love watching Goldust fight. He's funny, and technical.
The Rated R Return
Tonight in Toronto, Canada, Edge will return to Monday Night Raw! I am excited for this. I think this is a long stretch, but I am hoping Christian gets included because after coming off two great matches with Del Rio and Randy Orton this guy has become basically irrelevant. Obviously, he is injured, but I noticed him on Smackdown during a town hall meeting I believe he's recovering quite fast. More than likely he will have something to say about The Corporation, and Daniel Bryan. I think he will support Daniel since he is not in the company and could get away with this, which brings me to this.
Daniel Bryan Must Look Dominant Going Into Night of Champions
For the past couple of weeks Daniel Bryan hasn't looked too strong. He's been beaten by The Shield multiple times, RKO'd by Orton multiple times and even knocked out by the Big Show. I know that down the line things will look good for Bryan, but right now he doesn't even look prepared for a fight. Emotionally, Bryan is ready, but Bryan has to show that even after those beatings, he physically still has it. He needs to walk out of Raw with has head held high and The Corporation looking up at him pissed off.
Dean Ambrose Needs an Opponent

Questions: Raw
I've decided that I will be doing the Questions segment after Raw episodes for now on, except for special occasions. Monday Night Raw is just too long for reviews, and I am enjoying doing this segment. So, without further ado, here are my questions after Monday Night Raw.
Is Ryback headed to becoming a member of the Corporation?
After receiving a beat down from The Shield, Dolph Ziggler had to pull himself for a mystery opponent of Triple H's choosing. to many people's surprise it was Ryback. He came out with a swagger that was unique, and stunk of cockiness. The match went well, Ziggler doing as much super selling as he can. Ryback came out of the match looking like a dominant victor over the former World Heavyweight Champion. After the match I couldn't help but wonder if Triple H is considering pushing Ryback by joining him in the Corporation. I this leads to be the case I don't think I could agree with this decision. I think Ryback's bully segments are great, and entertaining. I want to see that to be his push. I think it would be great to see Ryback bully opponents in the ring.
What Happened During the Diva's Segment that Made it Look So Sloppy?
Divas Natalya, Brie, and Naomi had a triple threat match for the #1 contender's spot. AJ Lee was at ringside visiting the commentators. When the match was coming to an end, and Naomi went for a pin on Natalya, AJ Lee came into the ring and broke the pin. The match ended, but all of the Divas, including Nikki, Eva Marie, and Cameron teamed up to attack the Diva's Champion. AJ was left in pain in the middle of the ring as the Divas left the area. This didn't look good. A group of Divas that have been in a rivalry for a while suddenly team together to fight one woman. Even if this is a "The enemy of my enemy is my friend" kind of idea I would expect one of those Divas to not forget the hatred they have for another Diva. Later last night Stephanie McMahon announced that AJ Lee will defend her title in a fatal four way at Night of Champions against the three contestants of the match she interfered.
Why Did Paul Heyman Have to Use the Term "Practically Guarantees"?
Paul Heyman was being interviewed backstage about his elimination handicap match at Night of Champions with Curtis Axel against CM Punk. The stipulation of the match was that if Curtis Axel gets pinned Paul Heyman must enter the ring with CM Punk. He told his interviewer that this practically guarantees himself in the ring. By saying that, I start to think that Curtis Axel is not good enough to beat CM Punk, and even his agent, the guy that lies all the time, admits it. I truly believe that Paul Heyman just buried Curtis Axel with that one line. Paul Heyman did not show faith in the Intercontinental Champion, which means he just buried the Intercontinental Championship as well. Good going.
What Will Edge Do Next Week?
During the show last night there was a promo for Edge's return to Monday Night Raw in Toronto next week. Being a fan of Edge I am really excited to see him in the ring again. I just can't help but wonder where Edge will fit in any of the story lines going on right now. Last time he was in a WWE ring he was trying to get Christian into place when he was in a rivalry with Randy Orton. Now, Christian hasn't been heard of since his title match with Alberto Del Rio. So, we can eliminate anything with that... or can we? I think Edge will more than likely jump into the Corporation vs Daniel Bryan story line. I'll talk more about this in my Raw preview next week.
What's Next For Cody?
Cody Rhodes had a match against the WWE Champion Randy Orton, and if Cody lost he would be fired. In what was the highlight match of the show, Cody Rhodes fell short to the champ. He was fired by the Game, Triple H with his wedding just around the corner. Obviously, he wasn't really fired, but we have to wonder what will happen with Cody? Is Triple H setting him up for a good push, or did he just ruin Cody's chances of possibly bringing importance back to the World Heavyweight Championship soon? I hope Hunter knows what he's doing.
Will Anyone Back Up Daniel Bryan?
Last night nobody was on Daniel Bryan's side. Booker T wanted him to give up his fight against the Corporation. Big Show didn't want to fight him, and ended up knocking him out, he was forced by Triple H, of course. Daniel Bryan is all alone. No one in the company seems to have done anything but talk about being on his side. Will Big Show ever man up and take on the Corporation with Bryan? I don't think Show's enough. Daniel needs someone who can physically fight to help him, or have someone with importance to the company back him up. Will it be Edge? Can Mick Foley do what he did with Punk? These are things that may work, but John Cena did support Bryan before he left, and that didn't face the Corporation. So, when it comes to supporting Daniel Bryan, is it a matter of "if" or "when"?

Raw Preview
Tonight is Monday night! With the corporation still attacking Daniel Bryan any way possible, Big Show putting himself over, and AJ Lee bringing importance back to the Diva's last week I don't expect this week to top that. I thought the same thing last week, though. Anyway, here are some key subjects I expect to be brought up this week.
The Wyatt Family
Last week Bray Wyatt shot a chilling promo about his finisher, the Sister Abigail. The Wyatt Family is such a huge thing that I don't even think WWE realizes it. Bray Wyatt is one of the most refreshing gimmicks in a long time. He's the kind of character that doesn't need gold around his waist to make a statement. he seems as thought that's too practical. He wants souls. This week, The Wyatt family need to take their time. Beat some jobbers up, and stay low-key until Kane returns from filming his movie. I am hoping Kane becomes a member of The Wyatt Family. I think this will be a huge shock to the WWE Universe, and make for some incredible entertainment.
Natalya Will Start to Rival with AJ Lee
After becoming the fan favorite of the reality show Total Divas, Natalya has a huge push coming her way. It's time for the Katlyn and AJ rivalry to end for now. Kaitlyn has a lot to learn before she gets in the title scene again. I know Natalya is ready for the title, but AJ is huge competiton. If they play it right, this could be a really good rivalry. I think everyone on the roster's going to want a piece of AJ, and there will be some kind of battle royal for the #1 contender's spot which Natalya will win. I just hope The Bella Triplets (Nikki, Brie, and Eva Marie) don't ruin it like they did last week.
Mark Henry Injury
The World's Strongest Man, Mark Henry injured his hamstring at a live event in Boston. This is bad new because WWE has lost yet another big role in their storylines. Big Show and Mark Henry looked geared up to take on The Shield's Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns at Night of Champions. With Henry out, Big Show has no partner. What will WWE do now. There are two ways I can see them go tonight. They can either push for a ShoMiz reunion for Night of Champions or they can have Big Show vs Dean Ambrose for the US title. Either way sounds great to me. I loved SHoMiz. I will always remember seeing The Miz with the two tag-team titles over his shoulders and the United States Championship around his waist. I think WWE should go with Big Show vs Dean Ambrose because Dean hasn't defended his title since Payback. I counting on this one, but I'll be fine with either choice.
CM Punk & Paul Heyman Rivalry featuring Curtis Axel
Honestly, I can't even guess where this rivalry is going to go tonight. These two hate each other so much, and are so good at what they do that this rivalry has become unpredictable. I do feel sorry for Curtis Axel, though. It's got to suck to be a Champion that doesn't matter.
Daniel Bryan vs HHH's Corporation
This another story line that has become unpredictable for all the right reasons. This rivalry has led to the rebuild of The Shield, the heel turn of Orton, and the relevance of the Big Show. I do predict that Orton will retain at Night of Champions by some ridiculous way. I also see Daniel Bryan vs Triple down the line. It'll be funny if Bryan has the title by that time. Other than that I just can't wait to see where this story goes.
