Questions: Raw
I've decided that I will be doing the Questions segment after Raw episodes for now on, except for special occasions. Monday Night Raw is just too long for reviews, and I am enjoying doing this segment. So, without further ado, here are my questions after Monday Night Raw.
Is Ryback headed to becoming a member of the Corporation?
After receiving a beat down from The Shield, Dolph Ziggler had to pull himself for a mystery opponent of Triple H's choosing. to many people's surprise it was Ryback. He came out with a swagger that was unique, and stunk of cockiness. The match went well, Ziggler doing as much super selling as he can. Ryback came out of the match looking like a dominant victor over the former World Heavyweight Champion. After the match I couldn't help but wonder if Triple H is considering pushing Ryback by joining him in the Corporation. I this leads to be the case I don't think I could agree with this decision. I think Ryback's bully segments are great, and entertaining. I want to see that to be his push. I think it would be great to see Ryback bully opponents in the ring.
What Happened During the Diva's Segment that Made it Look So Sloppy?
Divas Natalya, Brie, and Naomi had a triple threat match for the #1 contender's spot. AJ Lee was at ringside visiting the commentators. When the match was coming to an end, and Naomi went for a pin on Natalya, AJ Lee came into the ring and broke the pin. The match ended, but all of the Divas, including Nikki, Eva Marie, and Cameron teamed up to attack the Diva's Champion. AJ was left in pain in the middle of the ring as the Divas left the area. This didn't look good. A group of Divas that have been in a rivalry for a while suddenly team together to fight one woman. Even if this is a "The enemy of my enemy is my friend" kind of idea I would expect one of those Divas to not forget the hatred they have for another Diva. Later last night Stephanie McMahon announced that AJ Lee will defend her title in a fatal four way at Night of Champions against the three contestants of the match she interfered.
Why Did Paul Heyman Have to Use the Term "Practically Guarantees"?
Paul Heyman was being interviewed backstage about his elimination handicap match at Night of Champions with Curtis Axel against CM Punk. The stipulation of the match was that if Curtis Axel gets pinned Paul Heyman must enter the ring with CM Punk. He told his interviewer that this practically guarantees himself in the ring. By saying that, I start to think that Curtis Axel is not good enough to beat CM Punk, and even his agent, the guy that lies all the time, admits it. I truly believe that Paul Heyman just buried Curtis Axel with that one line. Paul Heyman did not show faith in the Intercontinental Champion, which means he just buried the Intercontinental Championship as well. Good going.
What Will Edge Do Next Week?
During the show last night there was a promo for Edge's return to Monday Night Raw in Toronto next week. Being a fan of Edge I am really excited to see him in the ring again. I just can't help but wonder where Edge will fit in any of the story lines going on right now. Last time he was in a WWE ring he was trying to get Christian into place when he was in a rivalry with Randy Orton. Now, Christian hasn't been heard of since his title match with Alberto Del Rio. So, we can eliminate anything with that... or can we? I think Edge will more than likely jump into the Corporation vs Daniel Bryan story line. I'll talk more about this in my Raw preview next week.
What's Next For Cody?
Cody Rhodes had a match against the WWE Champion Randy Orton, and if Cody lost he would be fired. In what was the highlight match of the show, Cody Rhodes fell short to the champ. He was fired by the Game, Triple H with his wedding just around the corner. Obviously, he wasn't really fired, but we have to wonder what will happen with Cody? Is Triple H setting him up for a good push, or did he just ruin Cody's chances of possibly bringing importance back to the World Heavyweight Championship soon? I hope Hunter knows what he's doing.
Will Anyone Back Up Daniel Bryan?
Last night nobody was on Daniel Bryan's side. Booker T wanted him to give up his fight against the Corporation. Big Show didn't want to fight him, and ended up knocking him out, he was forced by Triple H, of course. Daniel Bryan is all alone. No one in the company seems to have done anything but talk about being on his side. Will Big Show ever man up and take on the Corporation with Bryan? I don't think Show's enough. Daniel needs someone who can physically fight to help him, or have someone with importance to the company back him up. Will it be Edge? Can Mick Foley do what he did with Punk? These are things that may work, but John Cena did support Bryan before he left, and that didn't face the Corporation. So, when it comes to supporting Daniel Bryan, is it a matter of "if" or "when"?
